I don’t know how many of you are using Yahoo instant messenger but i’m a fervent user of this IM. Although it’s overbloated with rubbish, it is very user friendly and quite popular in many countries.

What I hate when it comes to instant messengers is that people can hide from people, yahoo messenger has advanced stealth options. I know many are happy with this option, but sometimes it’s a very annoying feature (your friend is ignoring you). Why do people need the cloaking ability of their instant messenger ? Well, that’s a good question.

However, I was always aware of that stealth option and whenever I suspected somebody from my firend list using it I’ve tried to check if the friend was really offline. In the begining there was not a big deal detecting invisible users on yahoo, there were few methods (voice chat, doodle) which worked well. Yahoo constantly updated the little bugs so it became quite difficult to see if your friend is invisible or not.

Luckily, some people did some research and found new ways to determine the yahoo user status. There were many websites who offered invisible checker service but many of them gone quickly offline. Currently, I’m using www.invisible-scanner.com, it’s working almost flawlessly since December, 2008 and it delivers! I must say that almost it has no serious competitors on the web. I’ve chatted a little with the invisible-scanner.com creator and he has very good ideas which could materialise in future.

PSP® System Software Update

Update using a PC

Required items

• A PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system with battery pack and AC adaptor
• Memory Stick Duo™ media with at least 26 MB of free space
• Internet access
• One of the following:
• A commercially available USB A<-> Mini-B (5-pin) cable
• A commercially available Memory Stick USB reader/writer*
• A PC equipped with a Memory Stick slot*
  *If the slot on the device can handle only standard-size Memory Stick Duo™ media, a Memory Stick Duo Adaptor (model number MSAC-M2; a Sony product sold separately) is required.

Download procedure

1. Prepare to save the update data on Memory Stick Duo™ media using one of the following methods:
   • Connect the PSP® system to the PC using a commercially available USB cable
   • Connect a commercially available Memory Stick USB reader/writer to the PC
   • Use the Memory Stick slot on the PC
2. Create a folder for the update data on the Memory Stick Duo™ media.
   Using your PC, create a folder named “PSP” on the Memory Stick Duo™ media. Within the “PSP” folder, create a folder named “GAME”. Within the “GAME” folder, create a folder named “UPDATE”. (Folder names must be in all uppercase letters).

   

3. Download the update data and save it in the “UPDATE” folder created in step 2.

   

Notice
You must save the downloaded data as noted in these instructions. If you do not save in the correct location and with the filename shown below, the system will not recognize the update data.

• Location: Save in the “UPDATE” folder
• Filename: Save as filename “EBOOT.PBP”

Before starting the update, you must do the following:

• Fully charge the battery.
• Connect the AC adaptor to the PSP® system and plug it into an electrical outlet.

During the update:

• Do not remove the AC adaptor.
• Do not turn off the system or remove the Memory Stick Duo™ media.

If an update is cancelled before completion, the system software may become damaged, and the system may require servicing to repair or exchange.

1. Insert the Memory Stick Duo™ media containing the update data in the PSP® system.
2. Start the update data.
   Select (Memory Stick) under (Game) from the home menu, and then select . Press the button to start the update.
   
   

   

3. Confirm that the update was successful.

   After the update has been completed, select [System Settings] under (Settings) from the home menu, and then select [System Information]. If the [System Software] field displays the version number of the update, the update was successful.

   

   Hint

   After the update has been successfully completed, you can delete the update data from the Memory Stick Duo™ media.

   If the following screen is displayed when you attempt to start the update data, the system software in your system is already updated and you do not need to perform an update.
